Meet Alyssa Kempf

Alyssa is a seasoned family law attorney who has built her practice exclusively around domestic litigation in the Kansas City metropolitan area. She represents clients in matters involving divorce, child custody, paternity, modifications, guardianships, third-party custody, and grandparent visitation. Alyssa also serves as a Court-Appointed Guardian ad Litem, advocating for the best interests of children and incapacitated adults in complex family law proceedings.
She appears regularly in courts throughout Jackson, Clay, Platte, Cass, Johnson, and Buchanan counties. Alyssa is known for her compassionate yet pragmatic approach, offering clients clear, honest guidance while navigating the challenges of family court.
Originally from St. Joseph, Missouri, Alyssa earned her undergraduate degree in Political Science from Northwest Missouri State University. She received her Juris Doctor from the University of Missouri–Kansas City School of Law, graduating a semester early with an emphasis in Child and Family Law. During law school, she served as Research Editor of The Urban Lawyer, was consistently named to the Dean’s List, and worked in the Child and Family Services Clinic.
Alyssa is a member of the Missouri Bar, as well as the Platte and Clay County Bar Associations. She has been recognized as a Super Lawyers Rising Star for her work in family law.
